Filter Configurations

Functionality

By default, search results use an automatic filtering system.

See Filter logic with Scayle

This configuration allows for overriding some of these default behaviors.

In addition, certain filters on category listing pages (e.g., product grids shown when browsing by category rather than using the search bar) can also be influenced.

Filter Types and Functionality

Global Type

  • Every configuration must include exactly one “Global Filter Configuration”.
  • This applies to all search results, unless specific configurations exist for individual search terms.
  • Cannot be deleted or modified (fields “Type” and “Search Word” are locked).

Additional Types

If a configuration is created for a specific type, it merges with the global settings. Only differences from the global configuration should be specified.

TypeBehavior
GlobalOne-time configuration for all searches.
Search Word ClusterApplies when any listed words appear in a search query (e.g., defining “Table Chair Furniture” will apply to searches like “White Table”).
Single Search WordApplies when a specific word appears alone or as part of a phrase (e.g., “Bikini” applies to “Bikini White” and “Bikini Pants”).
Strict Search StringApplies only if the word appears exactly as specified (e.g., “Bikini” applies to “Bikini” but not “Bikini White”).

Example

A size filter should be hidden when searching for “bikini.”

  • Set “Size Filter” to “hidden” while leaving everything else unchanged.
  • Future global filter updates (like changing filter order) will still apply, but the size filter remains hidden.

Fields and Configuration Options
