Creating Pages & Content Types

This chapter covers one of the core tasks in the CMS:
creating and maintaining pages based on predefined content types.

Content types define what kind of page you are creating and which fields and layout options are available. Each content type is optimized for a specific use case within the webshop.

Content Types

What are content types?

A content type defines the structure and purpose of a page.
It determines:

  • which fields are available
  • which paragraphs can be used
  • how content is rendered in the frontend

This ensures that content is consistent, maintainable, and performant across the webshop.

Overview of the main content types

The CMS provides several content types to cover different page scenarios.
The most important ones are briefly introduced below.

Product List (Content)

This content type is used for assortment and overview pages, such as category or entry-level pages.

  • Focus on structure and orientation
  • Combination of editorial content and product-related elements
  • Optimized for clarity and performance

A detailed description is provided on a dedicated page.

Landing Page (Content)

Landing pages are used for targeted user engagement, for example for campaigns, themes, or marketing initiatives.

  • Flexible structure using various layout paragraphs
  • Ideal for campaigns, theme worlds, or seasonal content
  • High design flexibility within defined structural rules

A detailed description is provided on a dedicated page.

Service Content

This content type is used for service and help pages, such as:

  • FAQs

  • Shipping and payment information

  • Contact or support pages

  • Usually text-heavy, supported by layout elements

A detailed description is provided on a dedicated page.

Magazine Content

A specialized content type for editorial content with a stronger storytelling focus.

  • Designed for magazine or editorial sections
  • Dedicated layout concept
  • Suitable for longer-form content, inspiration, and guidance

A detailed description is provided on a dedicated page.

Homepage (Content)

The homepage is a unique content type per website.

  • Created during the initial website setup
  • Central entry point for users
  • Combines many different paragraph types

Changes to the homepage affect the entire webshop immediately.

The footer is also a unique content type per website.

  • Created during the initial setup
  • Contains global content such as links, service information, or legal notices
  • Changes apply to all pages across the site

Custom Content (deprecated)

This content type is deprecated and should no longer be used.

  • Originally served as a generic placeholder
  • No clearly defined structure
  • Kept only for backward compatibility
